Falz, the popular Nigerian rapper and activist, recently spoke about how he felt when allegations were made against him and his father, renowned lawyer Femi Falana, by social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM). In an interview with media personality Adesope, Falz shared his disappointment over the claims made by VDM, who alleged that Falz and his father were involved in manipulating justice, bribing the EFCC, and having a connection to crossdresser Bobrisky, including baseless accusations of a homosexual relationship between Falz and Bobrisky.

Falz emphasized that VDM’s statements had no proof and were entirely false, prompting him to file a defamation lawsuit. He explained that through his counsel, he reached out to the person VDM claimed provided the information, and this person admitted there was no truth to the allegations.

Falz mentioned that while defamation has a criminal angle, he opted to pursue the civil route by seeking damages, as this is the remedy available in a civil suit. He also revealed that a High Court had ordered VDM to take down the video with the false allegations, but VDM has yet to comply.

Falz expressed his frustration at being accused of using his family’s legal influence to oppress VDM, clarifying that he doesn’t seek trouble and is only defending his reputation against baseless accusations.
