The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) has officially announced the results for the 2024 Professional Examination in General and Post Basic Nursing Programs. In a circular dated November 10, 2024, signed by the acting registrar Ngadi Alhassan, it was confirmed that the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare had approved the release.

Of the candidates who took the exam, 18,139 passed, reflecting an impressive 88% overall pass rate. The breakdown of successful candidates across various programs is as follows:

  • General Nursing Program: 12,534 candidates passed (88% pass rate)
  • Refresher Program: 42 candidates passed (45% pass rate)
  • Foreign Trained Nursing (FTN): 178 candidates passed (43% pass rate)
  • Post Basic Nursing Programs: 4,513 candidates passed (96% pass rate)
  • Community Nursing Program: 872 candidates passed (74% pass rate)

Heads of nursing institutions can access their institution’s results online starting from Tuesday, November 12, 2024. This update is essential for institutions to facilitate next steps for successful candidates in the nursing field across Nigeria.
