The Presidency has publicly praised the Nigerian Senate for its swift and meticulous approach to the recent ministerial screening, highlighting the Senate’s efficiency in confirming the seven new ministerial nominees. Senate President Godswill Akpabio and his colleagues were commended for their professional handling of the process, which is seen as a step forward in advancing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s national objectives.

In a statement by Senator Basheer Lado, the Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters, the prompt confirmation was described as a sign of the Senate’s dedication to national development. The statement also lauded President Tinubu’s selection of ministers, emphasizing that each nominee was chosen for their expertise and experience, geared towards fostering impactful changes across various sectors and addressing critical national issues.

The newly confirmed ministers include:

  • Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs
  • Dr. Jumoke Oduwole as Minister of Industry, Trade, and Development
  • Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction
  • Muhammadu Dingyadi as Minister of Labour and Employment
  • Idi Muktar Maiha as Minister of Livestock Development
  • Yusuf Ata as Minister of State for Housing
  • Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad as Minister of State for Education
