President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has requested the Nigerian Senate to confirm the appointment of seven new ministerial nominees. This announcement was made by Senate President Godswill Akpabio when he read a letter from Tinubu. The request comes after the president’s cabinet shakeup, which saw the dismissal of five ministers and the appointment of these seven new nominees.

The nominees for Senate confirmation are:

  1. Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu – Minister of State, Foreign Affairs
  2. Nentawe Yilwatda – Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction
  3. Maigari Dingyadi – Minister of Labour and Employment
  4. Jumoke Oduwole – Minister of Industry
  5. Idi Maiha – Minister of Livestock Development (newly created ministry)
  6. Yusuf Ata – Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development
  7. Suwaiba Ahmad – Minister of State, Education

This restructuring reflects Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to fine-tune his administration for better governance.
