Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, expressed his deep condolences to the families and community members affected by the tragic k!ll!ngs in Nibo, Awka South Local Government Area, during a cult-related clash that left at least 13 people dead. The incident occurred while the community was celebrating its New Yam festival on Sunday.

Speaking during his visit to Eke Market in Awka on Monday as part of his routine monitoring, Governor Soludo condemned the violence and vowed that those responsible would be apprehended. He emphasized that the state would not tolerate cultism and that existing anti-cultism laws would be enforced rigorously.

Soludo acknowledged the need for a collective approach in combating cultism, urging parents, community leaders, and residents to take responsibility for guiding and protecting young people. He called for immediate action within families and communities to curb cult-related violence, stressing the importance of cooperation in making Anambra safer for everyone.
