Didi Walson-Jack, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, has underscored the need for collaboration between the Federal and State Civil Services to create a more innovative, responsive, and citizen-centered civil service. Speaking during a virtual interactive meeting with the Heads of Civil Service from Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, she emphasized teamwork and sharing of successes as essential to national development.
Walson-Jack pointed to the wealth of experience within the civil service, noting that its diversity strengthens its mission to deliver more efficient and impactful services. The meeting, aimed at exchanging ideas, provided a platform for civil service leaders to contribute their insights and share innovative approaches. She reaffirmed her commitment to transforming the service into a world-class institution that drives national progress, stressing the importance of communication and learning from state-level innovations.
The Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021–2025 (FCSSIP) was a key focus of her address, as she encouraged states that had not yet embraced the initiative to implement it in their own regions. Heads of Service from various states, such as Lagos, Benue, and Oyo, praised her leadership and vision, echoing the need for closer cooperation between federal and state services to address challenges and promote progress across Nigeria.
