Multichoice Group has rebranded its SuperSport variety channels on DStv and GOtv as part of an effort to enhance its sports offerings. The changes took effect from October 9, 2024, and include renaming the SuperSport Select Channel to SuperSport Africa. Additionally, a new channel, SuperSport Action, has been introduced, featuring a broader range of sports content like UFC matches and extra Champions League games.

For GOtv subscribers, the updates are as follows:

  • On GOtv Jinja and Jolli packages, SuperSport Africa will replace Select 2 (Channel 64).
  • On GOtv Max, SuperSport Africa and SuperSport Africa 2 will replace Select 1 and Select 2 (Channels 63 and 64).
  • On GOtv Supa and SupaPlus, SuperSport Action will replace Select 3 (Channel 69).

Tope Oshunkeye, the Executive Head of Marketing at MultiChoice West Africa, highlighted that these changes aim to provide more tailored and exciting sports content for African audiences, including local boxing and UFC events, alongside comprehensive sports analysis. The rebranding reflects MultiChoice’s dedication to delivering premium sports entertainment, and customers are encouraged to explore the new channels by subscribing or upgrading via the MyGOtv App or GOtv Stream.

These updates are designed to deliver a broader range of local and international sports content, with a focus on UFC, local boxing, and in-depth sports analysis. MultiChoice encourages subscribers to upgrade their packages via the MyGOtv app or dial *288#, and also promotes using the GOtv Stream app for on-the-go viewing.
